We Just Got Disneyfied

Ahh, it's about time I've finished this embarrassingly beyond belated sketch for my good friend Joe who asked for me to draw "us as Disney characters." (His exact words.)

At first, I wasn't sure which direction he wanted to me to take the "us" portion of the sketch ("us" as in just us two or "us" as in our circle of friends etc.) but once I finally settled on something, I needed to figure out how to tackle the Disney art style.

Let's just say it was even harder to figure out an approach to the sketch as well as mastering the style. Well, okay, more like trying to adapt to the style.

Hopefully I managed to pull it off in some way.

Yes, that is me on the left as sort of a sorceress/villain type and that's Joe on the right. He would SO be a Disney prince a'la Eric. He's got the pipes for it, that's for sure. ;-P

SKETCHAVEMBER Day 3: Sultry

EDIT: Got rid of that annoying smudge.

Day 3 of Sketchavember brings me my second contribution.

It was originally going to be a costume design but it started getting much, much too big so I decided to shift my focus on something small and simple that would also give me a little practice in a few departments...

-Inks
-My Pentell brushpen (but I had to use a few other multiliner pens for certain areas but the brushpen was used for a good bulk of the image.
-Different perspectives of the head.

Kinda had sultry sex symbols like Bridget Bardot on the brain here. Just wanted to draw a good haughty little pout. ;-)

Was I on the mark or hopelessly off? Let me know. ;-)

Inked Sketch: Vorhias, Beeyotches...

Okay, so here's the other freebie sketch I was talking about. This time, it was for MrVorhias over at DeviantART who wanted me to draw his cyberpunked out avatar.

If you all know me by now, there was no way I would have turned down an oppurtunity to engage in some cyberpunkery in sketch form. ;-) Mmm, goggles.

This was done before Sketchavember, for the record.

Sketcha! Sketcha! Sketcha!

Oh look guys! I've got a bunch of sketches I'd like to share with you all! I promise my works will return to glorious color soon, 'kay? ;-)

I thought I'd practice a little more on drawing guys since my artwork's so obviously swayed towards the fairest sex.

I would also really appreciate some good critique because I want to be able to draw a variety of different male types down the line.

The top left guy is probably my favorite of the bunch. He seems like such a cuddly teddy bear...well, one with tattoos anyway. Just like a Care Bear! :-P

Top right guy became sort of a suave metrosexual dude with the snazzy suit and distinct lack of stubble.

Bottom left reminds me of all the dudes I wanted to punch in the face. Arrogant, cocky, swamped in dreadful cologne, popped Lacoste (or any other beyond overpriced clothing brand that magically grants you a high social status) polo collar, spends more time in front of the mirror than their girlfriends...you know the type.

Aww, bottom right needs a hug and a cheeseburger. I'm sure he'll find another nice girl who can geek out over Legend of Zelda with him in senior high school...or college.

Finally, I have a spur-of-the-moment sketch of the brilliant Bjork. Hope I got her likeness right. I hope to revisit her soon for a future drawing. We'll see. ;-D

Random Sketches: 04/06/10

Some random sketches I did last week with a nice delicious white chocolate mocha on my side. It's a paper lantern shaped like an easter egg. They were hanging all around the coffee shop.

Sketch of Sorts: Candy Colored Falls

I found this little sketch lying around on my insanely cluttered drawing table. I remember drawing and coloring this last summer while my trusty laptop was scanning for viruses. Pro-Tip: If some window claims that "YOU HAVE HUNDREDS OF TROJANS AND VIRUSES ON YOUR COMPUTER!! DOWNLOAD OUR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE RIGHT NOW OR LOSE EVERYTHING FOR-EH-VAAAARRR!!!", don't download. It'll just scare you into thinking you have nasty viruses on your computer when, in reality, you don't. So close the hell out of whatever window you're browsing immediately.

Phew, sorry for the tangent but it seems like those virus "fauxgrams" are popping up everywhere these days and it's annoying the snot out of me.

Anyway, I'm thinking I might revive this sketch in some shape or form for a more fleshed out drawing.
